I have a mild steel tank in my '67 W200 under the rear of the bed. It was built in the early 70's by my cousin and spent part of its life under the rear of my '73 W200. It moved under the '67 when I got it up and running again. Have not had any kind of issue with rust or anything in all that time. It did sit for a couple years waiting for the '67 to get road worthy again.
