Correct Battery Size

What are the actual correct battery measurements for the B1PW? Does the battery holder fit the battery loosely or does it extend quite a bit beyond the end of the battery? I went to a battery manufacturer in Fairbanks and they have them in 8",10",& 12" What I have now seems too small, but gets the job done. Thanks in advance.
