Thanks for the insights. I agree that this thing is hardly worth even parting out. Theres just nothing left...at least nothing that weighs less than several hundred pounds, therefore...nothing left thats worth more than shipping costs...let alone my time to take it apart.

I also sort of want to keep it running for..well...sentimental reasons. It used to be owned by the local forest service, and was used to get up to a fire lookout tower about a mile from my cabin. About 30 years ago, they got rid of it...and now it somehow managed to make it back up the hill in my hands...so I'd feel bad being the one to put her to rest.

And it looks cool. I like the nose more than the M37. Personal stuff I guess...but Lord knows I've kept vehicles alive for worse reasons.

Indeed, a winch would be nice...of course, I'd need the PTO box too though...and if I could get a little more power out of the engine, the 1 speed transfer case would be fine. Probably feasable with a tunup since I don't think thats been done in about 50 years.

Anyhow, thanks again...I'll tear into it soon and see what I find.
