I bought a Hobart Handler for a friend that was doing a restoration on my antique tractor (he wouldn't take cash!). He loves it. Welds 1/4" plus all the time and has welded sheetmetal (18ga) also, no problems on either type of welding.
brwelder.com is where I got mine, around $510 . Use the Gas, much better than flux.
