You used to be able to get a kit here to put a trans cooler on the front of the radiator. It was much bigger capacity than the "in rad" type and attached to the radiator with white nylon (plastic?) things that looked like a long thin screw with a big flat head and big flat "nut" that ent on the other side. These things poked through between the fins and held it all in place. I've successfully used an old household aircon radiator to do the same job.
