Disconnect the gauge and look at the seat surface. It may have been dropped at one time and has a small ding in it so it wont seat properly. If not on the gauge seat check inside the bottle neck for a bad seat surface. You will always get a leak with this scenario and if any sparks get close it will lite up the bottle. Best to always test with soapy water for bubbles that tell you there's a leak.
