I bought a 93 W250 Cummins that only had 100k on it but got hit in the LH front. I used that 5.9, the Dana 70, Dana 60 & the NP205 but it had a Getrag in it & I wanted the auto in the Ramcharger. I had a freshly built A518 with all the fancy goodies that went in. So far I've resisted all temptation to turn the power up on it...the pump still has all the caps on it...she's a virgin :)
You know, all the work doing these conversions is in the small details. Finding ways to run the OD without a toggle switch, having the KSB solenoid operate without the computer & same with the grid heaters & everything else. All the small details take all the time yet when you go to sell them you don't get a nickel more for your work...but that's the enjoyment for me.
I have the factory tach for this one & that's also quite a job to get functioning without a distributor but we managed to get it working! :)
She's a 1978. The 1974 with the removable door top is my personal favorite but they're real hard to find. Tough to find any Ramchargers with removable roof that aren't rusted into the ground in these parts.
