Not sure what mine are called, but they have the sole partly sewn on, around the sides of the toe, and with a piece that wraps up over the top of the toe, but I think they're mostly glued on. I first tried two pairs of LaCrosse boots from Hoffman's, and they both fell apart, so they gave me the Danner ones and they've been good. Fortunately Hoffman's is really good on that sort of thing. Would hate to have had to hassle with some mail-order outfit over it.
