ran into a friend who boughta 2013 Dodge 1/2 ton 4x2 short box with the new pentastar v6 and 8 speed autmatic. He owns a dirt moving comapny and dirves alot. mostly in 55 mph zones and does not have a lead foot per say. getting 28 mpg! I think that is amazing. Newer trucks have become heavy pigs so getting htat kind of mileage is imprssive. I wonder about all the trannies with 6 and 8 speeds though. how problematic will they be at 100K plus? All autmatics in all brands are problematic sometimes anyway but the cost of rebuilding an 8 speed could be ridiculous.
