Ah. I had the same problem. I wonder if the repop glass channels are made thicker. I forced two paint sticks into them all the way around then stuck a flat tipped screwdriver between the paint sticks and pried the paint sticks apart until the channel got wide enough for the glass to slide easily.
I tested it with a short piece of 1/4" steel flat bar about 4"x 6" that I could pry sideways in the tight spots to loosen it more.

I wonder if the replacement channel isn't made for the army trucks that had the steel frame around the glass??
