I have the 7.5/80 3-cylinder unit, I never run out of air. I really like the continuous run feature for high demand applications like media blasting. They do use a magnetic starter unlike the 5-HP units.
The 7.5/80 is only like $200 more than the 5/80 but the difference in output is huge (17 CFM vs 24). The step to the 4 cylinder unit however was another $200 hundred for only a 2 CFM increase.
One of the best purchases I've ever made, I never have to worry about not having enough air with any of the stuff I've done.
