Ed; Hope to see you, give me a shout or stop by the old Feed Store, but probably will be busy, the past 3 months been preparing for Unit shut downs at old BP site that they lost 13 workers at 7 years ago (now owned by Marathon). It starts on Jan. 10, with cool down, perimeter blinds, solvent flush and water flush, will have 300 fitters and welders to keep safe and healthy by Jan. 20. The crews will remove and replace +/- 500' large bore (72", 48"and 36") iron clad Inconel crude transfer line in PS-3B (half of the 450,000 barrels of crude the plant processes daily goes through this line). In the RHU 200, 300, 400, 500 trains, and CatFeed will remove, replace, X-Ray, and pressure test numerous iron and stainless nozzles on reactors and towers, to include several 8” 2500 psi stainless, whose flanges are more than 5” thick. Lots of potential Hexavalent Chromium exposure, elevated work and confined space issues to mitigate, with plans to keep my men from excessive first-aids or any hospitalization.
