i had a first gen that would lose prime after sitting. pulled all lines - a blend of metal pipe and rubber hose (all factory) between the engine and the tank. bought a roll of biodiesel compatible diesel hose and ran a new length of hose from tank to a newly installed fuel pump and one from the tank return to the engine return. NEVER had the problem again. When checking the bent metal pipe, the one paul is referring to, i found it to be in poor condition. my local hydraulic hose guy made a braided steel line using the banjo fitting. fitted new banjo gastkets (yes paul they are rubber and metal). fuel issues solved. used frame holes to install clips to route house and anti chafe protectors for exposed hose.
