I think I got it, it is not that the bore is larger then the original factory spec (as in 0.040 over, 2.290), but it has warn beyond the machining (e.g. 2.295).
I do have an NOS piston set which I have $30 invested in. It would probably cost half that to send back, so it seems like these should go in too.
