I figure .013 would be about right. The gaps he has are about twice that. Even the most high performance racing engine would only be around .023 From the specs quoted by Don, it looks like the rings can be set a little tighter on a Power Wagon because the FFPW has such a low performance engine.

Don should go ahead and do what works for him. The engine may even run O.K. for awhile and get him to barber shops and parades. However, he's probably throwing good money after bad.

On the other hand, you have to consider whether the truck is worth putting two or three thousands dollars into for an engine rebuild.

I've seen complete, running and driving trucks sell for $6,000. The trouble with non-running Power Wagons is that the purchase is just the first step down the garden path.
