I read a bunch of the asnwers you got on the M37 forum and there was a bunch of good ones. Just depends on who you want to believe. The zinc break in oil was great advice. Change oil and filter within the first few hundered miles is my method. Oil pump must be primed before cranking or it will not develop oil pressure. I always prime oil pump, crank with plugs out for at least a minute or 2 to get oil everywhere, install plugs, run it, check for leaks, run at 1800-2000 rpms for 30 minutes, idle for 10 more, shut down, retorque head, check for leaks again, check oil and water condition and levels, if all is good, go drive how ever you want to drive. with 5.83 gears might want ot keep it under 50 for 1000 miles.
