Nick, hopefully the pictures of the TM 9-1808C along with what was posted below answered your questions. Basically, early w/ bolt on cover, late with welded on with exceptions. I pulled out the stack of manuals and will attempt to detail the variations this week. Also, pulled serial numbers and axle details from the four 3/4WC's that are here, for comparison.
