It seems like it should be no problem to have an old Dodge six cylinder flat head rebuilt locally. There's still guys around with a lot of experience rebuilding them. Then if you have a problem, the guy responsible is next door and not ten states away.
One local guy quoted $2,500 for a complete rebuild. The machine shop guy in town was working on these engines when they were new.
