and the pump MUST be primed on these engines or you will not get oil pressure. I put assmebly lube on everything so I leave the plugs out, crank with starter until pressure peaks out at cranking speed and keep cranking for at least a minute or two to make sure the lifters and timing chain are getting oiled well, then re install plugs nad break it in.
