The reason guys have problems isn't the programer...it's the guys! LOL!
The down side to a product like this is you have guys with zero mechanical savvy buying them & abusing them.
In the past, if a guy wanted a fast car, he had to research how to make his engine more powerful, buy the parts & then do whatever machining etc was necessary to install them all & this translated into hiring a qualified speed shop to do it for guys with no mechanical ability.
Today...nothing has changed. You can't take a 6.7 diesel & pour way more timing & fuel into it without other modifications & gauges & know how to monitor EGT's, yet with the new programers & a computer, even an idiot can add 300hp to his truck within 15 minutes.
So you don't hear about the guys that have been running the programers for years with over a million miles on their truck & still getting more than 20mpg...you hear about the idiot that just melted his piston & he wants to blame someone. Or you hear about the guy that's mad because now that he's running 600hp he just fried his transmission in his 2013 Ram.
More than 90% of the members on the TDR forum have aftermarket programers & I have yet to ever hear of a failure that I believe was the fault of the programer.
