I guess some guys install the programers for more power but in my case I've never turned the programer beyond economy...the only purpose for it is to make the engine run without that crap bolted to it.
Resale value will be considerably more because the engine will still run when I go to sell it.
The warranty issue is valid but to me it's worth the gamble. 12MPG out of a 2013 Dodge 3500 4x4 just isn't satisfactory or acceptable.
There's tons of Websites where qualified Cummins mechanics discuss & advise on what modifications are beneficial to these new engines that have become more & more unreliable in the past 15 years...those are the best places to educate yourself on the subject.
The most reliable diesels were built between 1989-1998 & I consider those trucks acceptable for pollution & fuel economy...certainly a lot cleaner running than any Power Wagon.
