Since I am rebuilding my truck from the ground up, I had the opportunity to change out all of my grease; start from scratch, so to speak. I switched over to a calcium sulfonate thickener. Unfortunately, calcium sulfonate is incompatible with lithium thickeners found in the most commonly used greases. So, this may be irrelevant to your situation. Nevertheless, I have been using Caterpillar Desert Gold and Ultra 5Moly grease, and have noticed no separation over the six years of use.

I see from the Caterpillar website that Cat now offers a Lithium thickened grease called Advanced 3Moly. This should be compatible with the vast majority of greases out there. I have no experience with it, but based on the high standards of Caterpillar, it may just serve your purposes.

All of these greases are available in an NGLI #2, and can be purchased at any Caterpillar dealer.
