Looking for help/assistance/advice (an offer maybe?!) for a ’75 Sno-Commander I bought which promptly quit starting right after I bought it. (Murphy’s Law) It used to start right off the bat, like it was just running two-minutes ago. It would hardly crank before it would fire. Then suddenly one day it cranked and cranked and cranked. No spark. We replaced the ballast resistor... then the coil... then the voltage regulator, VROOOM! It fired right up! (I thought, “Ah-ha, the weak link!”) Subsequently when I went to fire it up again several days later – again no spark. I cleaned all the terminals, cleaned all connections, charged the battery all the way up... and nada. So... my only thought now is the distributor (electronic ignition). Any other thoughts? Am I missing something? I hate to sink too much into it, I paid $1,200.00 last summer (figured the Meyer’s snow plow was worth that! The truck itself is a rust-bucket...), I trailered it home to our new place then found out a neighbor snow plows his driveway then our driveway and one other neighbor's driveway at no charge! (He says he’s always done it and it’s just something he likes to do. Bully for him!) Right now I’d just like to re-coop my $1,200.00 without buying/rebuilding a distributor so if anyone can offer some more advice - I'm all ears!!!
