The manual is nice and breaks the job down into small sections, so it is not hard. If you don't want a leaker there are a few things you need to do.

1) Make sure the paint on the inside of the casting is in good shape, or repaint the inside with the special paint restoration shops sell.
2) If the shift rails show any pitting or signs of degradation get Charles Talbert to hook you up with two stainless steel ones.
3) As somebody suggested, if the shafts where the seals rub is worn, you need to get that fixed. I use speedy sleaves on mine and they seem to work fine.
3) Use a quality gasket sealer on all gaskets.
4) Use thread sealer on all bolts that enter the casting.

That should cover it for leaks. For pushing the bearing on if you don't have a press, I freeze the shafts and heat the bearings up to 250 F and they slide right now.
