The 318-340-360 as far as mounting up should be the same. Side by side for the most part they look the same. The 318 and 340 are closer related then the 360. 360 has a longer stroke. As others have said there will be balancer and flex plate differences between the engines.
340's are rare to find these days and if its your brothers original engine to that challenger you would be a fool to get rid of it or do anything other then keep it for the car.
