We are finally getting our first snow about three weeks late after a record-setting warm Oct. We had highs 30 degrees above normal and record-setting rainfall.

Water tables in our area are flooding homes that are nowhere close to a body of water, folks are walking/boating away from their homes due to insurance not covering their losses. The governor has declared a state of emergency but that takes time for folks to get relief. Once the cold really sets in, these people will have feet of water in their homes that will freeze until May.

The weird weather is expected to continue as we expect to see snow and 8 degrees tomorrow and by Thur the high is predicted at 44 degrees. We're so fortunate not to be in this area, but we have friends that are.

Those that have been here 40-50 years say they've never seen anything like this. Our region was the last area in the US that allowed homesteading back in the late 50s.
