Vibration, incorrect power supply, faulty components, parts not designed for FFPW use. I've had even solid state sealed units die off-road in the past. Points and condensers might be a pain in the proverbial, but you can service them yourself, and if all set up correctly, will often not need adjustment for a couple of years.
