the yard jockies that i own, off road and on road have identical engines now - there were differences in the past. the on road trucks are certified for on highway travel and are supplied with vin numbers. the off road tractors, have the same specs, but do not have on road certification are supplied with serial numbers. since the epa has started to regulate emissions at the port, the manufacturers supply identical engines for these vehicles. you are likely correct about bobcats and loaders.
