Diff vent plugged? Do they use vac or pressure?

If the locker uses vacuum, it can suck oil when working, and blow it out the pump exhaust.

If they use pressure, and the vent is plugged, a leaky o-ring with a plugged vent would pressurize the whole axle housing, and it woud leak everywhere, and when subsequently shut off, pressure would push oil out the lines.

I guess I would check the vent before tearing into it.
