Been running up against dead ends for 2 years trying to find out exactly who ordered this beauty... FINALLY got a break.... The history on this thing is going to be wild!
Was purchased by the U.S. GOVERNMENT as a no expense spared build for the LAWRENCE RADIATION LABRATORY in Livermore ca. The splinter lab was officially opened in 1952 but planning for it began in 49....perfect timing for the build date on the truck. Top secret weapons, classified stuff. The lady in archive history told me there might be a picture of either DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER or. JOHN F KENNEDY pictured sitting in it during a visit to "radlab". Here's hoping they dig it up. Cool stuff
