Chris, the fel-pro I used last was blue on one side and copper shim on the other side? spray one side? the head is off of an engine rebuilt by chrysler in 1955 rebuild tag and cast dates on block, both 55. the head was cast on day shift at 1:30 pm in the afternoon 7-21-55, the serial is hand stamped, don't know if that means anything or not, large P cast into the head w/no. 1554674 as the serial no. the head is an open chamber design. the thickness on the front bolt boss middle bolt is 1.949. the thickness on the middle boss on the back of the head is 1.944. this head has had a lot of hand work done to it, like it was maybe a pretty rough casting, I don't see anything that would anything else. are you keeping a record of the combustion chamber size? if so I'll CC it if you want. Dave.
