How are the crack repairs going?

I looked at a couple of my frames and there were small bolts in the holes that had been plug welded on yours at the front spring hangar. I would stay away from any form of reinforcement modifications, fish plates, doublers and so on. The frames were designed to flex in use and the repair will transfer and compound the flex to another area.

I welded the frame of my neighbors Peter built logging truck where it cracked behind the rear spring hanger of the front axle several years ago and I see it go by every day no problems. He wanted me to "fish plate" it but I refused. After peening I sanded the weld off with a flapper disk leaving the sanding pattern longitudinal.
I told the owner of the truck that I would guarantee the weld until the paint cracked if he painted it and the paint has held.
His crack was across the bottom flange and 2/3 of the web.
