I Googled an Inflation Calculator, and it said that an $8.75 item in 1963 would cost $66.88 today. I guess the price of 12/2 wire has kept right up with the expected pace of inflation. Interesting. Despite all the talk of soaring copper costs, it seems that this particular commodity is right where it should be - if you believe the inflation calculator.
