that looks like a saginaw steering box. IH scouts used them in a forward rotation, Fords used them in a reverse roation (direction of the pitman arm) I have used the forward rotation boxes for PS conversions before, plenty strong enough. Toyota Land cruisers use something similar as do some of their HI-Lux trucks...interesting that the Nissan is similar...Land rover P-38 (range Rover) uses something similar built by ZF in germany. Very stout and well lasting. I have one fitted to my 1959 land rover truck.- John
