Well it sounds like I am the odd man out, but I seal all my carb gaskets. I use Permatex high temperature copper spray. I use the same base gaskets over and over and have not had one stick to either the carb, the manifold, or the restrictor plate. Using it may not be the reason the carbs seal to the manifold without any vacuum leaks, but at least it keeps the gaskets supple and reusable.
