A total of ten trucks from six states made the trip. As always, an excellent time was had by all.

Friday night we had to take a detour around Snowshoe Mountain due to a logging truck hitting a passenger train, killing the truck driver. Tim's overdrive broke loose and blew apart the yoke and U-joint on a foggy mountain road so we left it for the night. The brakes locked up on my 1946 on Saturday morning and the rubber fuel line broke at the crimped fitting. Did not keep us from having a ton of fun in the remaining trucks. On Sunday, we repaired Tim's truck by removing the overdrive and swapping in an extra drive shaft from Mark's parts stash. We adjusted my master cylinder rod (it was blocking the relief port) and repaired the fuel line by removing the crimped fitting and clamping the rubber line to the inner tube.

We drove over 600 miles in 4 days in some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. The trucks drew a crowd everywhere we went. We met a lot of folks who had Power Wagon stories to tell, including one woman who learned to drive in her daddy's Power Wagon at the age of nine. He removed the doors to make it easier for her to climb in and help him operate the winch in his logging operation.

This shot was taken at Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park.
