55 mph is about 3200 rpms with good stock size 9.00 x 16 tires which are usualy about 36 inches tall. just keep it in the right lane. Taller tires is the easiest solution to go faster. I have never had a problem wearing tires out and I have put at least 100K miles on these trucks. most of them all on one truck. the brand of tire makes a difference though. the Gateways I ran on a few trucks only lasted about 20K from new to the tread bars. I never trailered anywher to go offroading. lots of hiway miles to get out to the trails.
