So you don’t eat meat, or is it that you don’t hunt, fish or believe how the butcher performs their job is not humane? Do you ever wear a leather belt or leather shoes or wallet? If you are a vegetarian, you don’t think you are harming a living thing. Plants are living and have feelings as well, have you ever noticed how a sun flower moves its head toward the sun and moves it thought the day, or how a tree will grow to the side to get to more sun. Have you ever damage a pine tree and see it bleed to seal the wound, keep insects out and grows back over the injury and create a scar?
Good examples of plants that you can’t deny are living are the Pitcher Plant and Venus Fly Trap.
The Pitcher Plant has a reservoir filled with liquid that attracts insects, after they drink they can not escape due to hairs that make exit difficult or impossible to exit the tomb, the insects slowly drown and decomposes in the liquid, and the plant adsorbs nourishment from it.
The Venus Fly Trap lures insects into its specialized leaf that senses the insect and closes holding it until it dies a long inhumane death, then as the flesh decomposes the flower adsorbs nourishment from its prey.
Consuming nutrition from another life form sustains “higher life forms”, big fish eat smaller fish; a lion eats a wart hog, Humans consume every thing. We live in a world that has grown to the level that what ever we do to be productive we must do it in mass volume, thus disease resistant corn and wheat, hormone enriched livestock, solder houses that will make any horror film look tame.
Survival not of the fittest but in the end survival of the species that can adapt to an ever changing environment. I guess bacteria like (MRSA) Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus will be the winner since they seam to mutate and evolve faster than humans can design cures.
