But, it's the unsaid things that could be the problem here. The seller is a very experienced car guy, but he has elected to sell this thing as a "pig-in-a-poke". I suspect he is a shrewd re-seller and knows that he will get the most for his money by acting or staying ignorant.

This truck needs a real close inspection by a knowledgeable FFPW guy before anybody pays what I think it will probably end up going for.

As for the paint, be willing to leave it original or don't buy it. If you want a truck with a nice paint job, it's cheaper and easier to buy one already done.

No need to apply any protective coating other than, maybe a clear coat, it has lasted this long. Just keep it out of the weather and don't drive it on salted roads.
