Hi Joe. I found a small steel chisel worked for me. You have to get the edge of the chisel as close to the top of the key and exert pressure forward and upward with the hand holding the chisel as you tap on it with a small hammer. You might even have to work at it on the sides of the key as well. It will very slowly lift up out of the keyway.
