Thanks Fred. What is the approx height of the Mich tires your running?
Supposedly the Gamma Goat wheels will work, but you need to buy or build an adapter plate. I probably won't end up going with a GG set up due to their scarcety(sp)and cost.
I'm wanting a tire of around 36" to 38" in height, of medium width, with very aggresive tread. I don't like the ballon mudders as they tend to spin on the surface as compared to narrower tires that seem to cut through the top 8 - 10"'s of KS mud to get to terra-firma! Primary use of this vehicle will be off road brush buggy /survival truck so highway performance is not much in the equation. I've even thought of buying the higher speed farm implement tires that have tractor tire lugs. Would have to check legality as I do want to drive on streets and secondary highways.
Do they make a 16" OR 16.5", 6 on 7-1/4 wheel with large center hole that is NOT a split rim. I assume they do!
The truck has had all new brake work done, so I would kind of like to make use of the axles. I do have a matched set of Dana 70's, std 8-lug with 4:88 gears off of a 74 W300 that I could swap out. I'm going to do some comparasing(sp) to see if the new wheel cylinders, shoes, etc on the 61 will fit on the 74 Dana axles.
Would I be smart to go ahead and install the 8-lug Dana 70 axles even if I have to get new brake parts, etc for them?

Thanx again! Larry
