We're all used to going to a parts store and getting looks like we're from another planet, right? I went to my local spring shop (Alaska Spring) and they have a book with complete specs for Dodge Power Wagons back to 1946, and older Dodge trucks back into the 30s and even late 20s!
In other words you can get a brand new set of springs made, with new bronze bushings. Their books shows the thickness of each leaf and the arch of the pack unloaded. You could go from there and perhaps have them delete a leaf or two but add a bit more arch for a softer ride, keeping the overload pack in the rear the same.
Also, Monroe makes a truck and bus Gas Magnum shock that fits the huge 1.0" mounting bolts. Which precise one to get depends on the fully extended distance between mounts which depends on your springs.
Springs are one area where you can get brand new components made easily which are as good or better than original.
And I last but not least: it's cheaper to get new springs built than to buy NOS springs from certain suppliers and have them shipped.
