My own, recent experience indicates that the other responses (except for the advise re Bob Stahl) is incomplete.

4.89 Gear sets $700+-
Bearing sets & seals 600 to 700
Install (labor) 500+
Stahl set up 200
Rear Locker? 250+
Bronze thrust washers (from Stahl) 50

My truck had an easy 22K on the ticker and still needed over $350 in new bearings. A good shop will not reinstall bad bearings, and will insist upon a complete set for each axle before starting the job. Stahl is excellent, but you must deliver the third member to him (in MA) for set up. The diff shop I went to balked at touching the case the locker goes into, so I ended up spending another 200 with Bob. He will also sell you the bronze thrust washers.

It seems to me that if you are going to the expense of 4.89s, you may as well set up a rear locker at the same time - the difference in traction is significant.
