According to a few different sources on the web, Cummins power has been at Indy for three different races.

In 1931, the same year that a Cummins team set a new endurance record-a grueling 13,535 miles-at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Dave Evans ran the entire Indy 500 without a pit stop (one of only four drivers to ever do so) and finished 13th

In 1934, Dave Evans and Stubby Stubblefield qualified 22 and 29th in Desenburg/Cummins cars at Indy.

In 1952, Fred Agabashian driving a Kurtis/Cummins won the pole with a speed of 138.010mph and led the majority of the race until a small non-fuel related problem retired the car just minutes from the finish. It was only one of three race entrants that was not powered by Offy, the other two had Ferrari and Novi power.

None of the sources (including the Indy page) say anything about DQ'ing the entrants due to the lack of pit stops...
