When I purchased my 55 Fargo Power Wagon ( swivel frame ) I did not know if the swivel would ever work again. It had been plated and welded up in the late 50's or early 60's. I was worried that at least 35+ years of corrosion and no movement of the swivel might spell disaster. We decided last week to put other things on the back burner and concentrate on wether or not the swivel could be made to function again.
After four cutting wheels and about six hours of labour last night thr chassis was free for the first time in decades and it worked. The lack of rust on this truck shocked me we have yrt to break off a bolt and so far we have founr one hole ( rust ) about 1/8 of an inch in diameter. I sanded the underside of the cab floor last week and when I painted it I could see my reflection ( my last old truck's floor vanished when I sanded it )
I was soo happy to see the frame swivel last night I wanted to share it , sorry for the long post.
