I put a 5.7 into '41 half-ton WC, it fit without having to go off center, using the universal mount. I went to the junkyard and dug up a pair of early "rams horn" style exhaust manifolds to avoid interference with the steering box. I don't know if there is similar available for the 4.3 though.
