Good tips. When cleaning your engine block after machining, don't forget to clean all of the internal oil passages. There are threaded plugs at the front and rear of the block which may be removed to clean out the main oil galery. Plugs on the side of the block may be removed to clean the passages to the main and cam bearings. Oil passages in the crankshage should also be cleaned. I used .22 caliber and a 20ga shotgun cleaning brushs to do the work. Could not believe the amount of sludge I removed. No wonder my bearing were shot and crank needed grinding.
