I used to work at the shipyards. When the government wanted to mothball a ship for years of waterfront storage, they would use cosmoline on all exterior machinery parts. The machinery spaces were then sealed (as much as possible). Twenty years later after cleaning off the parts, they were as good as new. As far as interior parts, the oil was heated and flushed before starting, sprayed over all moving parts, ran a short time, then changed again. I would suggest the addition of a can of mystery oil during the short run before changing the oil after start up.
