The engines are essentially different. Totally different block. I have seen and have photos of both. The guy restoring the 1940 crew bus in England needed a oil pump part and when I went to look for it from my left over parts from my engine rebuild I found even the oil pump was not the same.
Another thing I forgot mention about the Burma Dodge was the windshield wipers are manually operated. There is a lever that drops down inside for each wiper with a knob and there is a link between the two sides so either the driver or passenger can operate them. I guess this was done since these trucks would of been operating in the mountains in Burma and the very high/steep mountains in Yunnan China along the Burma Road. I think vaccuum wipers probably would not operate under those conditions.
