Bob, I stripped all the paint from my 1923 Craftsman home with a torch 20 years ago. In fact, It was covered in Asbestos shingles...I removed those with a shovel & put them in the bin with the rotten roof shingles. Then I got a fan tip for my torch & stripped it from front to back with a 3" putty knife...all 6 layers of lead paint...didn't do any harm to me!
Hmmm...wait a minute?......
